Decisions Are Inventory, Not Trophies

A backlog of unmade decisions is the heaviest thing a team carries — and the leader is usually the one loading the shelf.

Every undecided question in your organization is inventory: it takes up space, it ages badly, and someone has to walk around it every day. Teams rarely complain about a wrong call made cleanly. They complain about the fog of calls not made.

Leaders hoard decisions for honorable-sounding reasons — waiting for more data, respecting process, avoiding rework. The data rarely comes. What comes instead is drift, and drift is a decision too, just one nobody owns.
